The Jungle Drum

Thursday, January 24, 6 PM The Jungle Drum is your film festival friend. Not only do their photographers preserve all the parties and premières for prosperity, they also kick-start the whole shebang with an all-night event. Starting off with a preview of Ang Lees' Lust, Caution at the Draken theatre we then move to the Festival Tent for partying and an exclusive gig by Joel Alme, featuring brand new music. At The Jungle Drum you will find all the party pics.

Tickets can only be purchased through The Jungle Drum

Opening Party

Friday, January 25, 9PM, Trädgår'n As always, the festival starts with the classic opening party. This year we've called in party planners Kalle Gustafsson, The Soundtrack of Our Lives and Fredrik Egerstrand, film maker who in turn have rolled up their sleeves and called up musician friends and other creative notables. At restaurant Trädgår'n, they've polished the dance floor and stocked the bar while a motley crew of film folks will man the turntables. This year's festival's focus on Mexico will be apparent in colour and flavour as well as musically. Between 9PM and midnight, buses heading for Trädgår'n will depart from the Festival Tent and Draken every 20 minutes.

Artists:
Silverio (Mexico), Adam Tensta, Anna Järvinen, Lykke Li, Division Of Laura Lee, Pacific, Hellsongs, Trummor och Orgel, Hästpojken, Fanny Risberg, Olle Nyman.

DJ Marathon with:

Dylan Party

Tuesday, January 29, 10 PM, Festival Tent As if the première of Todd Haynes's celebrated Dylan film I'm not there wasn't enough, we also devote the same evening to a party in the Festival Tent in honour of the film and its main character - complete with fireworks. Our house band The Bob, featuring Kent from Sator and Dan Viktor, will take the stage while a row of artists will contribute their own distinctive Dylan interpretations. Relay race writer Nina Wähä, Farväl Falkenbergs' Jesper Ganslandt and Erik Enochsson to name just a few. The DJ booth will host a hurricane battle between Dylanologues and if you feel like taking home the Dylan expert award you can test your knowledge in the Dylan quiz under the direction of quizmaster Emrik Larsson.

Plexidragon

Friday, February 1, 9 PM, Festival Tent The nicest award in the film business turns five! We celebrate the fact that film is a collaborative art form where heroic efforts from every conceivable field are needed to put a great movie together. Plexidragon awards will be handed out for, among other things, best casting, best extra, best runner and - not the least - best enthusiast. Host of the evening is Kittyb Jutbring!

Closing Party

Saturday, February 2, 7 PM, Börsen This year our traditional closing party will take place at Börsen where, among other things, the Nordic Film Prize and The Ingmar Bergman International Debut Award will be handed out. First class buffet and amazing amusements!

MAGASINSGATAN - THE END

Later the same evening you can drop by at one of Gothenburgs' most charming streets, Magasinsgatan, were restautants like Uppåt Framåt, Magnus and Magnus, Bliss Resto and their neighbours open the doors for those who don't want to go to bed. The street will be filled with barbecues, warm (and cold) drinks and happy guests as the official Closing Party at Börsen ends. Cineasts and directors can hang out while the actor or actress from the directors' film might look deep into a drink filled with exotic rekvisita - music will be spred from all over.
