Åsa Larsson, CEO of Göteborg International Film Festival, has married and at the same time changed her last name to Bernlo. We congratulate her and remind those who aim to e-mail her to use the principle: first name.last name@filmfestival.org

Post production support decisions 2008

Göteborg International Film Festival Fund in cooperation with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, SIDA, supports film makers living and working in countries in transition. Eight film projects were chosen for post production support in May, out of around 100 applications submitted.
The fund's next deadline is October 1 2008 - for development support.

Filmkonst 111 - Bergman

A must-have Bergman reference book. Texts about, and photographs from, all of the 49 feature films in our big Bergman Retrospective at this year's festival. Further it also contains photos by Ola Kjelbye from Fårö island. The preface contains contributions from Festival Director Marit Kapla, former festival director Gunnar Bergdahl, and directors Ang Lee, Woody Allen, Andrea Arnold and Pen-ek Ratanaruang.

Congratulations Aida Begic!

Göteborg International Film Festival and its Fund congratulates Bosnian director Aida Begic! Her film Snow won the prestiguos award - Critics' Week Grand Prix - in the Cannes Festival section Critics' Week. The award is decided by film critics and journalists from all over the world. Snow received support from Göteborg International Film Festival Fund in 2004.

New record when festival closes

The 31st Göteborg International Film Festival has come to an end and it is time for som facts and figures. This year 124 000 tickets were sold for 750 screenings of 450 films from 67 different countries. 30 488 member ship cards were sold. This means that the festival manifests its strong position on the high - and even increases ticket sales with 6000 and memberships with 3 488.
